Artist's Comments
Something along the lines of High Maintenance, a deviation I submitted a little while ago. If you liked that one you'll probably like this one too.
 Finished just in time for the Disney at Disney Contest over at  *disney-parkhoppers. Thanks to my sister for the "Jane" caligraphy and the title, and to =Arete-Eirene-Phile for the bag refs.  It was my first time experiencing what it's like to laugh while drawing something. I've had this idea for a while and I was pretty amused with the drawing the entire time I was making it. My sister and I had a pretty good laugh over the title, too (which she made up). Drawn by hand, inked with a pen I had handy and colored with Rose Art colored pencils. Supposed to resemble a restroom I know pretty well in Adventure Land in Disney Land. The Dole whip stand is right across the way! Enjoy! EDIT: Hey folks, perhaps for extra enjoyment here's some more info: Just realized that at first glance people might think I'm doing one of those disney male-male matchups, like Aladdin and Tarzan are a couple or something.  The shopping bags belong to the girls they're waiting for, who are apparently inside the restroom indicated by the sign above, whose purses are between the boys. There's a sunhat with a certain princess stone on it, a purse with a certain princess's first initial, a notebook/sketchbook that may be owned by a girl who used such a notebook in her feature film, some mickey ears with a certain girl's name, etc. Trust me, if the bags belonged to Tarzan (if he became a shop-a-holic or something, somehow) I definitely would have given him a happier face for a guy who's spending time at the happiest place on earth. Same idea as High Maintenance... frilly girls.  Wow, I never would have thought people would think the shopping bags belong to these Disney Adventurers...  "Where Jane? What Jane Doing?" "Relax man, they'll be out soon." It's making fun of girls who make their guys hold everything and wait for half an hour while they're in the rest room. Supposed to be funny... eh?  Yea? Well, I thought it was funny...  Nothing like telling a joke, saying I think it's hilarious and hearing crickets chirping...Hopefully it's more enjoyable now! |
